Jacee started School

Can you believe my little girl is big enough to go to school! She just started kindergarten today, I always thought I would be totally emotional (I was a little) but I have to tell you, she is so excited and I am so excited for her!! I can't wait to hear about her day!

Helping Daddy

Brock is loving to help these days. Apparently he insisted on helping daddy mow the lawn. :0) Silly Boy!
I just love this one!

Brock Started Nursery!!!!

Can you believe my little baby boy isn't a baby anymore!! He is 18 months old now and yesturday, he started nursery!!! (secretly I am super excited, it is sooooo hard to teach a class and have a little man distracting the kids). So, I told Jess I would stay with him for a little while utill he was comfortable and then head into class....... I figured since he really has never been seperated from his mommy he might have a hard time....... I was wrong, the kid took off for the ball blowing toy and never looked back.....even when I called his name and tried to say goodbye, not even when I gave him a kiss, he just ignored me and giggled at the balls flying all over. He had a blast, they painted (notice the blue paint on his head, it is also all over the under arm of his white shirt, that should be fun to clean up!) and I peaked at him and saw him playing with some cups. Primary just wasn't the same with out him! Guess it is time to let him go.......... at least on sundays!
I took this one before I realized he had taken his tie off, we needed pictures to be official!

So serious!

Making Salsa

I ordered twenty pounds of tomatoes and got them on saturday, I emailed all my friends and asked for help with a receipe...... I have never made salsa before. I had way too much fun, I do like to cook from time to time when I get inspired :0) Here are some pictures, isn't it soooo pretty! It looks like Baja Fresh...... it is official, I should be a cook! J/K :0)

Cousins Camp

Every year in July Jess' Family gets together for Cousins Camp, a time for all the cousins to get together and have a good time. We got home sunday night. It is for a week, but we headed out wednesday afternoon. So we spent a good 4 days. Here are some pictures! The kids already can't wait for next year!

Davis Family 2008

Brock, playing in the water, he was weary at first, but that didn't last long!
Ace swimming around, that was one happy boy!
Jess and Darren, trying to be like super Dave (Daisy's Man!)
Super Dave giving Jacee a ride, so.....what do you think, does Jess compare? :0)
Grandpa Dennis (Jess's Dad)There were fish in the lake, you can see them in this pictureWe celebrated all of the kids birthdays. Half of them on night, and the other half the next night. My parents came Friday night and spend a few days with us, I am so glad they came and we could spend some time with them! They can come anytime, they took over my dinner night and it was the best dinner ever!! Thanks mom and dad!

Flying

I am a bit behind, we just got back in town. Thought I would update you on our recent adventures. Jess's sister Daidre and her husband Kent flew in town and stayed with us one night on their way to cousins camp (that is what we just got back from). We picked them up at the airport, we were planning on a plane ride with the kids, but it was pooring rain............. so, we ended up doing it the next day when we took them back and the weather had cleared up!

Their airplane

Brock, he couldn't take a ride, he is too young, but man he wanted to!!!!!!

Jacee with her cousin Katie, sitting in the back seat.

Ace, soooooooooo excited!!

The kiddos, hanging out while we checked out the plane (Ace, Kipp (cousin), Katie (cousin), Jacee and Brock

Jess and Kent, checking out the planes.

So, I should tell you, the ride was so sad. Ace was soooo excited, Jacee got scared just as we were going to get into the plane. I knew she would love it once we got going (and to be honest I was a little nervous myself, there is nothing better than feeling like you are falling! ) So, she was crying and really didn't want to go. She has been talking about flying for so long, I didn't want her to miss out. So I strapped her in and she cried and cried as we were getting ready and taking off (talk about a pitt in my stomach, I felt like I was horrible mother torturing my daughter) Once we took off, she refused to look out the window, I told her how cool it was, but no, she was mad! So I kept consoling her (I was twisted around in my seat rubbing her hand and face trying to be brave, I paid for that one the next day, every inch of my back hurt. I wonder why) So, then I turn and look at Ace, he looked petrified!! I asked him if he was okay, if he was going to throw up. He said no, but had a death grip on the seat, then he starts crying. Meanwhile Kent asks if I want to fly the plane and shows me how to turn (from side to side) which makes both of my children cry out in hysterics, I told him to turn around and take us back, they were freaking out!! So much for a good experience. So he turns us around, but it takes a few minutes to get back, the whole way Ace is asking to get out!! So we come to the runway, and Jacee finally looks out the window and sees all the little houses and says cool, look at all the little houses, this was a fun ride! ?!?????!!!! Ace was tortured and thought it was horrible. He wasn't okay until we landed (which I was a little nervous about, but Kent did a great job!) So, that is our adventure! Man, I was ready for a nap!

Welding

Jess has been out working on one of his mustangs, trying to get things finished. I took some pictures of him welding. I was bummed because I didn't get one with him and the welding sparks, I was trying not to look at it through the camera, so I put 2 pictures together....... can you tell!? Thank goodness for photoshop! :0)

After the rain

So, today started out as a usual HOT day.......... but later this afternoon, it started to sprinkle, Jess went out to cover his cars, but before he could finish it was DOWN POURING!!! Our window that used to leak about a year ago started to leak again (darn it!). Too Much fun! Jess was soaking wet!! After I put the kids to bed, I decided to go get some pictures of how gorgeous it was outside........ it is so pretty after the rain.......
.... and look, I was trying so hard to get a picture of the lightning!!

This pretty little girl has been around for a while... what has it been Jess....10 years.....still here! She's a keeper! :0)Thanks to the rain recently.....she is a little rusty, again.
Here is Jess's favorite little girl, nice and comfy in the garage.....waiting for her daddy! She is just waiting for someone to finish her and take her for a spin!!
Here is the youngest, she is about 4 months old, she looks bad now, but wait until she is done- she'll be a beauty!Want to take her for a ride, sorry, there aren't any brakes.....in time!
Poor Jess hasn't had anytime to work on his little beauties lately. He has been out of town probably 2 of the last 3 1/2 months. (no joke!) So, when he is home....he has his other 3 kids to play around with, speaking of, here is brock as Jess was heading out the door on sunday......see his tears, he didn't want him to go!!!!!!

New Logo

I have a company making a Logo for me........however it is taking forever! What should have taken 2 days for a revision has taken 2 weeks, I have emailed them to see what is going on and .....still nothing. Any one who really knows me knows that when I decide to do something, there is no need to wait, just get it done! I decided to give it a try and see if I couldn't come up with something myself. I am trying to decide which color to use. check it out! New Logo

One on One Time

Twice a week, for fourty five minutes, Ace and I get some one on one time. Jacee heads off to preschool and Brock is sleeping. Poor Ace hasn't had much time with just mommy. Guess that's just the way it goes sometimes. Today he kept asking me to play with him. I asked him what he wanted to do, this was first on his list. I don't usually enjoy pushing them on the swing, but it's not so bad when there aren't siblings around and fighting about whos turn it is next!!! I was laughing as hard as he was, that was great!!

Saturday Morning Excitement

We are constantly finding little creatures in the backyard, to ace's delight! This one tried to sneak in. Thank goodness Jess caught it, I don't want to find that curled up in my bed!! You could hear his nails clanking on the hard wood floor as he ran. I hid in my office.... the thought of anything crawling on me justs freaks me out!

Jacee is hoping to find her prince charming......wonder if this will bring her any luck!
.... and tonight brock got to play with some frogs too! He was just a "little" excited!

It's my Life Photography

So, I am starting up a Photography buisness! Surprise! Dennis, Jess's dad has been very encouraging (he is a photographer himself) as well as lots of other friends and family members. So I thought, what the heck, I will give it a shot! I have spent the last two weeks taking pictures, getting details worked out, working on my website and so on! It has been a little stressful at times and exciting at others. Here are some of the most recent pictures, my poor kids are soooooooooo tired of taking pictures, I have probably taken a good 1000 pictures of my family (practicing all the different settings and playing with my new flash) in the last 2 weeks. They are good sports! I am so excited!

A Girls Weekend

As we all well know, life although great can be a little depressing at times, and so a girls weekend is needed! My good friends from Vegas invited me on this much needed adventure. What a blessing! It was wonderful, relaxing, exciting, fun, and so on, and I could have done it for another week! I vote it a yearly event! Here are some picutures. Here is our handy GPS, we named her Berta. We tried to change the voice to a more exciting mans voice, but apparently it only has a girls voice. She took us everywhere, with specific directions (turn right, but stay left??? It made sense once we reached that section of road) My favorite was when she let us know we were driving on the road (thanks for the clarification! :0), she even added a little unneeded sight seeing. It added to our good laughs.
We headed out to Dennys for breakfast, it was great!
Here are some of the shots I took, what a view.

We headed to the beach, walked around a bit, checked out the sea lions. It was great, beautiful and relaxing! Then we went shopping, my most favorite thing to do! The day was wonderful, we headed to downtown san diego for dinner at a mexican resturant......yummy. The weekend was short, but great.

Emily, we do still need the tally results for how many times we had to use the bathroom! :0)

Thanks for a great weekend guys!! Now Stephanie, how many times did we try to take this picture??? ( for those of you not in on our little joke, her eyes were closed in all of them, so she finally decided to just put on her sunglasses!)

Our Holiday Letter

Happy Holidays!

We hope all is well with our Family and Friends!

Life here at the Davis’s has been a little more entertaining than last year, it started with the birth of our son Brock. We thought for sure we would have him by Christmas last year, but to our surprise he didn’t show up until January 28th! He is such a great boy, and it is so good to have him as part of our family! I call him Mello Jello, the kid is so calm! He is a mommas boy and comes alive when we play with or tease him. He just loves his brother and sister! He started crawling a few months ago, and is getting close to walking, I can’t believe he is almost one! They grow up too fast!

We are so excited about Ace! He started school in October. He is only 3, but we had been worried because he was trying to talk, but he wasn’t pronouncing words. No one could understand him, and it was getting very frustrating for everyone involved. We heard there was a priority preschool and after 8 months of testing, the testing concluded that he has a moderate delay in Expressive language and Articulation. So, he goes to school every morning, he is picked up by the school bus and just LOVES it! We have seen such a difference in this little boy! A once grumpy little boy has come alive and is excited about life and wants to help and be involved. Not to mention how much better we can understand him! He still has a long road, but he has 2 years to get there! He is quite the little boy!

Our sweet Jacee is doing well, she is growing up by leaps and bounds. She turns 5 this month. She is so ready for school (and she’s not too happy that Ace gets to go and she doesn’t). She is in Joy School, and loves hanging out with her friends! She is such a good helper and does everything just like mommy! She loves having her brothers around, I don’t know what she would do without them. She loves to draw, and write letters, she is quite the Artist. Oh, and watch out for her pictures, she is quite the poser! (I don’t know where she got that from!) She is very ready to have a sister, I keep telling her I don’t know when that is going to happen, but she already has her named and thanks Heavenly Father for her in her prayers! What a sweet girl!!

I am keeping busy running after everyone and trying to keep on top of everything that needs to be done. It is the life! I wouldn’t want it any different! (just don’t ask me on my bad days!) I try to keep up on scrapbooks and documenting everything important. I keep entertained with my craft projects when there is time. I have also added a new hobby of canning. I have done a little for the past 2 years but have really kept at it this year! I love seeing all the jars lined up on my shelves, and having homemade jam, it reminds me of my grandma!

Jess is busy as usual, he is a hard worker, doesn’t want to waste a minute of valuable time. He has been gone with work quite a bit, he travels to New Mexico about a week out of every month give or take. He tries to give it his all! When he is home, he is good about helping out and giving me a brake when he can. If there is any time after that he enjoys building his 1965 Shelby cobra kit car. He started it 2 years ago, it is nearing it’s finish, but will still probably take a little while. We are teaching the Valiant 10 class in primary. It has been a great time teaching together!

We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We would love to hear from you, keep in touch!

Love, the Davis Family

Humanitarian effort in Mexico

Yesturday Jacee and I headed out for Nogales, Mexico. A family in our ward does this every year and has for years, I really wanted to go last year but was very pregnant with brock, so this year it was a for sure! I wanted to take Jacee so she would be involved in this great service project. We had 6 suvs worth of food and supplies. We took rice beans, toys, books, blankets, and other needed items with us. We headed out at about 6:30 am. It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive there, we dropped half our supplies at a branch down there to be distributed to families in need, then we took the rest into the hills. It is opposite there, we think of hill top property as prime lots, well the higher you go there, the worse it gets. They didn't have any running water or electricity. Their houses were made out of trash, pieces of spare wood, bricks, metal, what ever they could find. It was so sad to see that people live like this. One of our groups said they found a family that had a house with no roof. It was raining while we were there and I guess they had a piece of wood proped up and they were all huddled under it. We stopped and ate at a mexican restuarant just south of tuscon, I had my first mexican hotdog (very good!) We made it home at about 9pm, what a day! It was a great time!! My little girl was so brave, it was an awesome experience! Here are a few pictures.

(I forgot to mention, while we were waiting for the key to the branch, a little shop across the street was robbed. The police showed up and then the swat team! It took a minute to figure out why there were police cars all around us. Adds a little excitement to the day!)

Jacee the Photographer!!

I never have pictures of myself, I am always the one taking pictures. Jacee always asks if she can try taking pictures with my camera, I have let her try a couple of times, I have been impressed with what this 4 year old little girl can do. Here is what she did today! She even told me to say "pickle"!! What a girl!!

Brock

My sweet little boy. He is 10 months old now, and almost walking, we call him our mellow jello boy. I took probably like 50 pictures of him, I got about 3 that he is looking at the camera in. Silly boy..... It looks like he is thinking, you done yet! :0)

Making Wrapping Paper

So this year I thought it would be fun to make our own wrapping paper (I know, as if I don't already have too many things to do). So the kids and I went at it, here are some pictures.

Jacee's 5th Birthday Party

We had Jacee's Birthday Party a little early, no one seems to be avaliable a 3 days before Christmas.....wonder why?! We had a pizza party! We played pin the crown on Jacee (pin the tail on the donkey) :0), that was her daddys idea! The kids played and played, then we opened presents and had cupcakes. Our little girl is getting so big! Happy Birthday Jacee!

Painting!!!

So, we have this wall, we have been wanting to paint it since we moved in. It was painted with flat paint, and not very well at that, and everytime you go to wash off little munchkin handprints........... it wipes the paint off with it, and still looks......bad! So we attempted the unthinkable! Thank goodness for really tall ladders and Jess's smarts :0) (yah, had to add that in for brownie points!) So, I spent the day painting the stairway, and of course as always Jess sneaks in last minute and helps out a bit so he can get some of the credit, don't be fooled by the pictures....... I spent all day, he just helped out a little! :0)

Boys in the Bath

Today we took pictures of the boys in the bath together. Now that Brock is getting older, Ace always asks if they can take a bath together. I have some really cute pictures of Jacee and Ace in the bath together hanging up in our bathroom, I will have to add these to the collection! My sweet boys!

Carving our pumpkin

We finally got a pumpkin and carved it! This is our first year, we have drawn faces on them in the past. The kids were very excited! We had them touch the seeds inside, Jacee thought it was gross! I stuck my hand in there with her, she still thought it was yucky, she asked to wash her hands the whole time, silly girl! Ace thought it was great! He was right in the middle of it the whole time, although he did say it stunk. He liked it so much, he asked if it could sleep with him in his room. He even remembered this morning, it was the first thing he asked about!

Jacee's Photo Shoot

Every so often I do photo shoots with the kids. It is a lot of fun for me to spend some one on one time and play around with them. Today was Jacee's. She is quite the model, and she is only 4...... what have I done to myself! :0) Here is one of her best.

Ace's first day of school!

Today is a big day! It is Ace's first day of school. We started testing him back in March, we have a hard time understanding what he is saying, he doesn't pronounce his words. There is a priority preschool that we heard about for little guys, to help them out before they start school and need to know how to communicate. It is a program offered by the school district, so there was a lot of testing and meetings to see if he was in need of assistance, and if he qualified. The testing concluded that he has a moderate delay in Expressive language and Articulation. Well, Friday was the final meeting and I finished all the paperwork and turned it in. They got right on it and he started today! He will be picked up by a schoolbus each day. It is Monday thru Thursday for 2 hours each day. He has been very excited, and nervous, but he did excellent today!! He went right in, what a big boy!! He will be enrolled there until he starts kindergarten. I am very excited for him. He is going to have a blast, it is at the district office, just a street light away from our house. I didn't think I would have a kid starting school for another year. Jacee is a little jealous, honestly I think it is good for her. Ace has been watching her go to Joy school a couple times a week for over a year, and she was a little sassy at times. It will humble her a little :0) Here are some pictures, of him in front of the bus, and with his teacher, Miss Lezlie.

Playing in the Backyard

Jess and Ace made a kite out of paper, straws and tape. It was a windy day today. It actually flew!! We kicked some balls out in the yard, it was a great late afternoon. Watch out Brazil, these kids are soccer players!
